We are currently testing Scalable and Flexible Quality Assurance methods to serve emerging Bible translation methodologies. Our vision is to see the global Church empowered for quality Bible translation rooted in their experience and expertise.

Project Overview

For a Church and Community translating the Bible and assuring quality, access to exegetical and translation resources is critical. Additional support is needed for:

The Open Translator’s notes provide the same features as SIL’s Translator’s Notes, but they are may be freely downloaded, distributed, and translated because they are open licensed. The Open Translator’s Notes are aligned to the English Berean Standard Bible.

“Translator's Notes (TN) is a verse-by-verse commentary geared specifically for local Bible translators, produced by the SIL International Translation Department, and authored by experienced translation consultants. TN is written in easy English for translators whose mother tongue is not English. The target audience is translators who have some high school (ideally ten years of education) and who read at a 6-8th grade level.” (https://www.sil.org/translation/translators-notes)

Open Translator’s Notes will be available in the Aquifer and on their website (https://opentn.bible/ ) as they are completed.
