Create a Software Proposal

  1. View the project board for all Innovation Lab-scoped proposals to understand the proposal template and what other orgs have proposed: https://github.com/orgs/etenlab/projects/2
    1. Example: crowd.Bible project: https://github.com/etenlab/ilab-project-proposals/issues/1
  2. Create a proposal by creating an ‘issue’ in the Innovation Lab’s Proposal GitHub repository using the ‘iLab Proposal Template’: https://github.com/etenlab/ilab-project-proposals/issues/new/choose and filling in the template with your project’s information. Do not include financial information in your GitHub issue. You will need a GitHub account. Contact [email protected] if you have any issues with this.
  3. Create tags for your proposal by working with iLab drivers and creating GitHub Issue Labels. Reach out to Michael when you are ready to discuss this.
  4. Search the project board for other proposals that have been tagged with the labels you have used for your project and consider reaching out to the proposal point-of-contact to discuss overlap and deduplication of components. This will be a phase that ETEN Innovation Lab staff perform. You can get ahead of that conversation if you so choose.
